It’s been a long Year

Is it still only January? wtf?

You don’t need me to recap the never-ending barrage of everything that’s been punching us in the face since New Years Day, but that’s not that only reason I haven’t been particularly present with updating this site.

There’s plenty of bad news in the world, and if you’re going through it, know my thoughts, my heart and my efforts are with you. I look forward to a big thaw. But I would like to share some good news and give an update on all the things that have been happening here at my desk.

  1. I have received representation. The contract is signed and my agent is currently holding two of my manuscripts to potentially shop around to publishers. This has been a very very long journey and I’m so excited to be on this next leg of it. I hope to have more news on that in the coming year.
  2. Spec Pub is releasing our second novella of utter speculation, LOADING…THE MACHINE CHILD at the end of March. It’s a queer, low-fi, weird fic novella about the Polybius arcade urban legend of the 80s, by kick-ass author TT Madden.
  3. My short story, “No One Would Even Care” was published in MORE MONSTERS NEXT DOOR anthology and it’s available now on Amazon. The story is about a lonely teenage girl who ends up moving across the street from her bully, into a haunted house. Here’s a link if you want to check it out.
  4. And lastly the biggest news…

River Eno and I are on the preliminary ballot for a Stoker Award, for our Spec Pub anthology, VAMPIRE HUNTERS: AN INCOMPLETE RECORD OF PERSONAL ACCOUNTS. If you are a voting member of the HWA, you can vote for the final ballot until February 15th.

And if you want to check out Vampire Hunters, here’s the link to the landing page with all the places it’s available online.

I hope to have a chance to get into everything with a little more detail in the future, but I too am going through it with the other stuff, so this is just a quick update for now.

Take care and remember that reading is both an act of revolution and self care.
