As spring turns to summer and the temperatures warm, many of us start to build our summer reading collection.

For some, reading comes as naturally as breathing, and the thought of settling in with the perfect summer read on a porch swing, a lounge chair by the pool, a hammock in the backyard, or a beach chair by the ocean is something to look forward to.

Beach Shorts turned out to be quite a surprise. The stories that came across my desk were charming and packed with romance, a little bit of magic and a lot of fun.

Tidepool Dreams, Shark Out of Water and Mermaid and Coyote are three stories filled with love, laughter and promises made by the water’s edge. Tea Leaves follows a women’s quest to fulfill a fortune told. In True Romantics and Blueberry Bells, we witness a great love and a reunion of two souls.

A romantic attraction is just the beginning for two members of a bridal party in The Best Man. Sparks fly between a jogger on a collision course with an artist in Muffins and Meet-Cutes, a clever set up becomes too tempting to resist in Lemon Drops at Mermaid Lagoon, and a life built on lies finds truth and a sweet reward in Tangled Web. 

In Wildwood, a well-deserved second chance at love takes us back to a simpler day. Falling further into the past we follow a rivalry that turns romantic in A Race to Finish. Ultimate Timeshare takes us even deeper back in time with an escape to Sparta.

Whether it’s a hot romance, time travel, a romp in the waves, or a melancholy reunion of two hearts, I hope that you find all that and more within the pages of Beach Shorts.
